I am presuming that this is the factory fitted unit.

it sounds like one of the door locks is worn or miss aligned, and saying to the system that the door is not shut correctly

How to disable alarm on 95 jaguar xj6

Your Car is equipped with an Electronic Security System. If you disable it (which most probably you can not), you will bet on security of your car. If you still want to disable it, you should contact your Dealer or Authorized Service Station with Purchase Bill. If possible, they'll change locking system to old one.

Alarm won't turn off

the valet key doesnt have a transponder chip in it, so it will allow physical turning of keyways and operations, but will not disable the alarm and often wont disable the immobilizer.

sorry to say i think you will need to get an autolocksmith , or main dealer to get you a functioning key with transponder chip mapped to your cars rfid system that will allow alarm to be enabled /disabled

How to by-pass security alarm

There is a simple fix, and it will keep your alarm... Just replace the key lock switches. They are about $30 or so at the dealership, if you just use the driver's side mostly then just get that one. You may be able to swap the one from the lift gate to the driver's side, but I'm not positive.

I think they are specific to each door so make sure you tell them drivers side or passenger side.

It's a bit of a bear to get back on there, I just removed the inside trim and panel and did it all by feel. Make sure you test it before buttoning everything back up.

It could also be possible that the switch is just loose on the key cylinder and needs to be pressed back on, but of the two I did this was not the case, the contacts on the switch were warn down.

You could possibly rebuild the switch, bend the contacts out slightly but I broke mine when removing it so that didn't work.

The way I dealt with this for a while was, I would use the power locks to lock the doors before I shut the car down, then manually lock my door. This did not engage the alarm ('94 GC Ltd). If I did enable the alarm some how, the lift gate lock switch still worked (I imagine because it is used less) and I could disable it there.

Anyway, you can replace the switch(s) or disable the alarm.

Lose tried to steal my 20005 buick rainer .iignition is missing took off plastic cover .can turn ignition to start but scurty light is on won,t start .there is no chip in key what can i do to start it?

Your vehicle is equipped with the Passlock theft-deterrent system. Passlock® is a passive theft-deterrent system that enables fuel if the ignition lock cylinder is turned with a valid key. If a correct key is not used or the ignition lock cylinder is tampered with, the fuel system is disabled and the vehicle will not start.

During normal operation, the security light will turn off approximately five seconds after the key is turned to RUN.
- If the engine stalls and the security light flashes, wait about 10 minutes until the light stops flashing before trying to restart the engine. Remember to release the key from START as soon as the engine starts.
- If the engine does not start after three tries, the vehicle needs service.
- If the engine is running and the security light comes on, you will be able to restart the engine if you turn the engine off. However, your Passlock® system is not working properly and must be serviced by your dealer. Your vehicle is not protected by Passlock® at this time. You may also want to check the fuse. See Fuses and Circuit Breakers on page 5-93 in the Owners Manual.

Testing the Alarm
The alarm can be tested by following these steps:
1. From inside the vehicle, lower the driver's window and open the driver's door.
2. Activate the system by locking the doors with the power door lock switch while the door is open, or with the remote keyless entry transmitter.
3. Get out of the vehicle, close the door and wait for the security light to go out.
4. Then reach in through the window, unlock the door with the manual door lock and open the door. This should set off the alarm.

When the alarm is set the power door unlock switch is not operational. If the alarm does not sound when it should but the headlamps flash, check to see if the horn works. The horn fuse may be blown.

Keep us updated.

How to set factory alarm without remote, togle switch enabled

factory alarms are passive, if it is working it sets itself when u exit the car. u don't need the remote for the alarm to work if it has a factory system. if u want to test if it is working lock the car with the power lock button and leave the window down, reach inside the car and open the door from the inside handle, the alarm will sound if it is working, to disarm just lock and unlock driver door with the key..

Security alarm

Look under the driver side seat for a black box, with several wires going to it. This is the controller for the security system. Please do NOT unplug the wires. You car will NOT start if you do. Advise if the box is there, and I will provide info to disable the system.

Cannot turn off security Alarm

If this is a factory alarm try using the the key in the door lock and turning the door lock manually. I have seen this issue in chrysler models as well. If this does not work try replacing the batteries in the key fob as this will cause falfunctions as well.

Go inside the vehicle, dont put key in ignition, leave driver's door open, press the auto lock button on the driver's door, now close door while you are inside and watch on the dash the alarm enable itself, once it stops flashing open the door, this will set off the alarm, lights flashing horn blowing. Now take the key and put it in the drivers door and turn the key to stop the alarm. Now start you vehicle. If you want you can take the glove box apart to get to the vehicle security module to remove it. Dont unplug it unless the vehicle is running (must be running due to back up on computer) unplug the module and you will never have another problem with the security again and it does not effect your powerlocks.
