Question about 1994 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Intermittant idiling/poor acceleration at rest

Hello FY...this problem doesn't happen too often, just sometimes, after the car is warmed-up.
-No problem starting-up at all!
-At a stop sign, idlling, the RPM's fluctuate, 200-300 RPMs. Then, when it's time to move forward, it feels as if the car wants to stall!
-No problems while the car is travelling.
Please advise, thank you, Ed.

Thank you, lastech...frankly, I really have no automotive experience. Was going to take it to my trusted MB service tech.
Needed to know what this service would cost? Would this problem appear on the techs computer?
    Thanks again, E

Hi again lastech...Thanks for all your advise.
My MB has nearly 300K miles on it, and with a few exceptions, its been faultless. I had this problem before when it had maybe 100K miles on it. I don't recall what my MB AD did to rectify the problem.
These are the MAJOR services performed to date:
    *new radiator
    *new water pump
    *new fuel pump
    *new rotors & brakes(once only)
    *new HV/AC fan
What do you think, regarding the services performed vs. mileage on car? Your feedback is welcomed, thank you, Ed.

Poor idle and no acceleration on a '91 GMC Sierra 1/2 ton p/u w/4.3l v6 manual trans

there is vital information missing here
to start with it is a v 6 so there will be 2--HO2S sensors one for each bank before the cat converter and 2 --O2ensors --one for each bank after the cat converter
there is a vast difference between HO2s and O2 sensors as each reports different information to the ECM
next slow acceleration can be accelerator position sensor or throttle position motor
every time you read the codes it cancels them so you have to run the vehicle for a few miles for codes to reappear
from the codes there can be up to 7 reasons for that code to appear so you don't pick on the first one as it could be another or a combination of others

I have a problem that occurs intermittently, and therefore would be difficult for a mechanic to necessarily find. Sometimes, when my car is started "cold," the car will lose power when I put my foot on...

I don't think you're supposed to do a cold start. That just means you have a huge compressor. My Honda Element HATES it when I have the A/C on. It's like the A/C drains almost all of the power out of the car.

My truck has kind of shutter to it upon acceleration then smooth out. Then at a steady speed between 45 to 50 mph bad shutter again. Cooler weather and cold start ups, speeds up and slows down when idiling...

it could be the coil pack, its one of the symptoms that can happen when they fail, if it has a crack or seal broken damp can get inside and cause it to not work properly.

How is it you have the issues & the dealer never drives it,
to experience the same thing you are?

They are jerking you & don't care to resolve

Either leave it there, try a different dealer or have the
factory rep come & work on it

Hie,my fiat punto 2004 reg auto transmission, vibrates heavily when engine warms up.this happens when you stop and engage into (D) for drive.I have tried to drain and add new ATF oil but it won't solve...

This is likely not in your transmission. It sounds like you may also be experiencing some low acceleration and poor mileage. The open bonnet is indicative of needing repairs under the bonnet. It sounds like a probable misfire (i.e. bum spark plug or plug wire(lead)). This doesn't sound too major but do have it inspected before it becomes catastrophic in the future. Cheers and let me know if you need anything else. Just occurred to me, is this a diesel engine?

How is your charging system? Sounds to me like it's not charging your battery, so it runs until the battery cannot support the ignition load.

Intermittent car shuts off

I had this problem once with a Jeep Wagoneer Limited. The combustion principle is most simple. You have fuel and you have spark. Since you are getting emission failures because of unburned fuel, I would start with the spark.

Most modern cars don't use points anylonger, but an electronic computer circuit to generate the spark. These can be very temperature sensitive. In my case, whenever the car would get warm, it quite and left me stranded, 20 minutes later, it would cool enough and run again as if nothing had happened.

I would try locating the spark amplifier under the hood and get a replacement. This is likely to solve the problem.

Hope this has helped.

Doug
