This is for a 1994 Town Car. All I have. Should be the same.

Remove air line from compressor air dryer (5346) by pushing retainer inward and pulling out air line.

Off is easy- use dikes to remove, pry fitting up but dont squeeze too hard or you will crush the brass fitting. inspect your new dryer and make sure there are O-rings inside each of the 4 holes (they are tiny) installing is a littte tricky- first insert the brass fitting just slightly inside the hole. then carefully insert the hose. then push hose and fitting together all the way into the hole, you will feel it click. test it just give it a tug to make sure it caught. incase you crushed a fitting- they cost about $15 at the dealership- the kit has one set of all O-rings and one brass fitting. it took me several times to get them to work, but once you get the fisrt one in. the rest are easier, good luck

1988 lincoln mark vii my air ride compressor will not come on what could it be and why

There can be several reasons. The system will not activate unless all the door switches and the trunk switch indicate everything is closed. There are some fuses and Relays for the pump motor that can be checked. There is a cutoff switch in the trunk which is shut off for tire service and other things requiring lifting the vehicle.

Some of the better scanners can check the Air-lift system systems. You can call Autozone, Advance, or Oreilys to see if they have the better scanner to do this. Usually free at these brands.

Can I bypass the air system to fill air manually

On the Mark VII, they came with an emergency fill schrader(like a tire valve) valve on the compressor head. To use this, simply apply compressed air to the Schrader valve WHILE THE PUMP IS RUNNING. The reason I say while the pump is on, is because if the compressor is on, the solenoids on the front or rear WILL be open, thus allowing air into the air spring(bag).

Most likely have a leak in the front air system. Could be a line or one o the air bags. Could also be a missing or misadjusted ride height indicator.

I have a 1990 Lincoln Mark VII, the air ride was removed and now there is a short somewhere causing voltage regs to fry and draining the battery. We found a connection under the hood (passenger side) and...

after replacing the air system on your Mark, you should have turned the switch off in the trunk and left the air pump intact.....that way the system does not know that anything has been done....you can then just remove the bags and tape off the lines.....basically it does not know when to air up bacause of no pressure changes....all of the electronics on the mark vii are tied togather in the wiring harness and the best thing to do is nothing...plug everything back up correctly and try to turn off the airbag system in the trunk and see if that helps..
