Question about 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt
Here is what you need to do if you are a automatic try to push more in park and try to remove the key if this fails you will need a ignition switch.Here is the good news,All the the cobalt has a failed ignition switch and Chevy has published a TSB bulletin for their failed ignition switch.Bulletin No. 09-02-35-005C.(Febuary 7, 2011). Title ignition switch binds and key difficult to remove (Replace ignition cylinder). You need to ask for the warranty.

Try everything at once if you can wiggle gear shift step on brake and turn wheels on the steering wheel if possable wiggle it too.. and then try to get the key out while doing this .. which you might have already done .. not sure. holler if you need help Jerry

in all new cars you have to turn your steerign wheel slightly to either get the key out or start your car its a safety thing try it
