Question about 1992 Buick Roadmaster
I just replaced the battery and the car still will not start, it is a 1992 Buick Roadmaster.
If the starter is good, a bad ignition module or failed fuel pump will produce similar symptoms, i.e. no cranking, nothing happening when you turn the key. Ignition module sits under the distributor cap and is about the size and shape of a cassette tape with 2 female plugs and one male plug. Quick way to check the fuel pump is to put the car in a quiet place like inside the garage. Find a quiet friend to sit behind the wheel and turn the key so the dash lights come on, DO NOT TURN THE KEY FULLY LIKE YOU'RE TRYING TO START. You get down on the ground and listen near the gas tank for the quiet hum of the fuel pump that tells you it is working.

JUST THE BASICS
if automatic transmission make shure it is in P"
if manual make shure the "NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH WORKS"
does it crank? if it doesnot then starter is bad....or the wiring to the starter.....
alternator....have the alternator checked...."if you think it works dismiss"
does it crank but nothing yet....check fuel pump and filter....maybe a fuse or relay is bad...
this are just the basics...
hope this helps XD

If the engine will not turn over using the starter then it cannot be the fuel pump. If the car has a factory inhibitor system installed, the chances are that it is this system that is preventing the car from starting. You may not have to press a button on the key fob either, it may have a transponder built into the key fob which transmits it's data at switch on.If you don't have the correct key or a key without a keyfob then the anti-theft system will NOT be disabled and the car will not start. There is no easy answer for this as you need the correct keyfob or you need to purchase and have programmed, the new keys.. If this is not the issue, let me know and I will describe further procedures for your issues..
