Question about 2000 Ford Focus
I think the window is out of track
More that likely, the plastic guides that run up and down the "window regulator" are broken. If you take off the door panel, check for broken plastic pieces in the inside of the door shell. It is a common problem. However, the fix is not that easy - or cheap. It requires replacing the entire "regulator" with a new one. The repair requires removing the door panel, taking off the screws that hold the dual rail regulator and cables and unplugging the motor. The new regulator is about $70 from RockAuto.com or you can order from Autozone for around $105-115. I can't find anyone who sells it without the motor which is probably not bad. However, replacing the whole thing is much easier anyway. I'd suggest that you get the new one before you remove the old one. It is a lot easier to see how to take it out if you know what it looks like.
