Electric Windows I have a 96 Ford Explorer 4 door and none of the windows will go down. I replaced the relay and I dont see a fuse. could it be the master switch on the driver door?

None of the windows will work. For around a month, they would work most of the time. I thought it was just me. Then last week they stopped altogether. Fuses look fine, power fuses look okay, Can't find relay 4 tho.HELP!! Oh, I was thinking it might be the drivers door switch, however the individual windows won't work either.

The windows on my ford explorer 2000 xlt dont want work up or down

Just a suggestion but after checking fuses and relays (relays can be interchanged from 'like' relays) check wires between drivers door and the door jam, pulling the boot out to do so or slicing it carefully.

Replace unit in drivers door with one from scrap yard, find stuff at www.kijiji.com or .ca here in Canada.
Some suggestions to resolve your issue.

The windows in my 1998 ford explorer dont work all the time and i cant find the relay fuse or any fuse for the windows where is it?

Hi there:
CHeck in Passenger Fuse Panel (early drive side dashboard / will need open drive door) and look position 12, 7.5A for Power Window Relay, Washer Pump Relay.

Also, could be a problem with the power windows switch, harnesses, wires or ground connections.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Windows will not go up and down

If none of the windows work from any of the door switches, I would look for a power problem, fuse or relay under the hood.
Could also be a faulty driver door switch.

well lets start at the begining - if none of the windows are working take out your owners manual.
find the fuse and relay guide - look for the power window fuses, pull them out and check if they have been fused - like a light bulb burned out.
if so replace them with ones of the same ampage - the number printed on the fuse or ampage set in owners manual which ever is higher do NOT go over ampage in owners manual.
if fuses are ok look for the power windows relay - with engine off but key on have someone operate window switches and you listen and feel for relay clicking which means it is energizing.

Now with out any knowlege of how to use a volt ohm meter or understanding of DC electric it will be near impossable to instruct you on pulling the relays and testing them; test the drivers side window switch for power by taking the door panel off. testing the window motor for voltage going to it when the switch is in the up or down position and a common falure point in older cars the wires running from the door frame through to the door.
good luck

All the windows on my 2003 ford explorer will not roll down. I have replaced the switch on the door and it still dont work. the relay fuse was checked and is good. what else could be the problem?

check the wires between the drivers door and the body, inside the rubber cover(cut the boot with a razor blade) Often from the door being opened and closed many times a wire will break here.

2002 Ford Explorer - Electric windows don't work

#1 that vehicle has atleast 2 seperate fuse boxes, 1 located under the hood, and the other either under the dash board (driverside) or on the side of the dash board also on the driverside (cant remember which1 for sure, i own the same year explorer but its getting a trans. overhaul at this time, sorry.) anyway, make sure to check both of those areas 1st. i know there is a fuse for all the window motors, but there are relays as well, check those too. I seriously doubt it would be a bad drivers door master switch cluster, but you never know. all in all i would re-check your (owners) manual once more to locate the window fuse(s) and relay(s). If I remember correctly they do have fuse and relay charts in there for sure, just exactly where in that manual I cant remember, but its in an odd spot of the manual from what I recall! I know its not much help, but it should get you started in the right direction. Good luck and let me know if you have any more ?'s.

Windows will not operate on my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

window relay module probably went bad. theres a window relay under the dash you have power . try getting a wiring diagram mabey at an auto parts store or the library. so you can trace the problem down . short of taking the doors apart and checking the motors that drive the windows . Old fix with the old school cars bang on the doors from the inside with fist . it sometimes works the connections on the old school cars . Its stupid but it worked to get the window up .
