Could be normal operation as one fan is for the radiator, and one is for the A/C system.

I'm not sure you have a problem. Is the engine overheating?

Hey, i responded to your other posting, you are correct that one fan is for a/c, one for regular engine cooling, it is normal for the radiator fan to run for 2 minutes after car is shut off. I believe the a/c fan only runs when a/c is on, so I don't believe it's a problem, unless it isn't running at all. Is the car running hot or overheating? If not, it sounds normal.

Doesn't start when hot

don't push your luck, engine is overheating, check if cooling fans are working, to check jump wire fan direct to battery, fan should run if good. if it does, cooling fan switch maybe defective. one on engine and one on bottom of radiator. replace if need be.

I have already replaced the radiator and thermostat but my 91 Honda Accord still overheats, why?

Run a cooling system pressure test. If you are losing pressure, then you will have to first locate the source of your leak.

With the engine started and the radiator topped off with coolant, does the radiator spout water out of the top? Does the spouting become more aggressive with engine revs? Yes? = Blown head gasket, or cracked cylinder.
No?- check operation of radiator cooling fan. With car stationary and hood up, run engine up to temperature and make sure radiator cooling fan kicks in before the engine temperature rises too high.

1991 honda accord the radiator coolant fan won't

hi this sounds like your radiator fan switch is u/s, you should be able to locate it on the radiator itself, either on left or right hand side, look for a large nut looking thing with 2 wires coming out and that will be what is needed...hope this helps

The cooling fan on the driver side of the radiator does not work i just put a new one where the water hose side is and now it runs but the other one does not. I put one new thermostat and one new fan...

One of the fans is for your radiator and the other is your condenser fan (for your air conditioning). The condenser fan starts at a higher temp than your radiator fan.
To test the condenser fan (the one on the right side, facing the car) unplug the electrical connector at the motor and use jumper wires to connect the fan directly to the battery. If it runs, check the fuses (engine compartment far upper left as you face the car), then the relay (right front corner of the engine compartment as you face it). The radiator fan typically engages between 189 and 199 degrees, but the condenser fan typically engages between 217 and 232 degrees. In other words they don't necessarily run at the same time. First of all, try letting the car run until the engine is warm WITH the ac running. If the condenser far does not run, then go through the checking procedure.
I hope this gets you started on a fix.

Which fan is for the radiator and which one is for a/c

Simple. The radiator cooling fan is on the passenger side and the AC condenser fan is on the drivers side.

1991 honda drivers side fan runs after engine shut off

If the engine is hot the electric fan will run until it is cool. As long as the engine isn't overheating and the fan doesn't run for more than 10 minutes or so it should be ok. If it has two radiator fans they should both be running though.
