Question about 1996 Ford Explorer

I have a 2007 Pontiac G6 and none of my windows roll up or down

I have a 2007 Pontiac G6 four door and none of my windows will roll up or down. I put a fuse in it and it worked for about 2 seconds. The fuse then blew and I had to get another one to roll it back up. Does any one know what this could be? I did call a local mechanic and he told me there might be a coin in it. I looked and saw nothing like that.

1. have window switch checked 2.unplug all window motors,3.plug one window motor up at a time to determine which window motor causes the fuses to blow. 4.the could be an electrical short inside motor, check all wires to motors to be shure that none of the wire insulation has been cut. 5.check wiring diragram and have body control computer checked.

If they go down but not up. Replace the master switch on the drivers door. 3 don't usually die at they same tie unless it is that switch.

All of a sudden my Pontiac G6 all of the windows will not role up or down and when I opened the door the window rolled down like it was supposed to but now it is stuck and none of the windows will do...

Originally, it sounded to me like you've got a cut / pinched wire that is keeping the window commanded down. But since all windows aren't working, I suspect a blown fuse or cut power wire (or probably both).

Replace any blown fuse and try again. If it blows, do not replace the fuse again - yet.

Carefully inspect for damage then pry back the protective, weather-tight rubber boot that is between the door and body. Check all wires for chafed, pinched, cut insulation or wires. Repair as needed.

Replace the fuse and try again.

If the fuse keeps blowing or the windows still refuse to work, there may be a bigger issue here. Good luck!

Hello I need help locating the fuse/relay for my power windows on my 2006 Pontiac G6. My windows are stuck in the down position.

The 2007 Pontiac G6 engine compartment fuse block is located on the driver's side of the engine compartment, near the battery. The wiring circuits in Pontiac G6 are protected from short circuits by a combination of fuses, circuit breakers and fusible links. This greatly reduces the chance of damage caused by electrical problems. Below diagram and table shows 2007 Pontiac G6 Engine Compartment Fuse Panel, Relay and the Circuit Protected.

OMG. I replaced the battery in my 06 G6 and had the same problem. the windows would not roll up or down how they did before. I read the answers on here and it does work. Hold up the window switch for ten seconds and it resets. You will have to do it to each window. Worked great. Thanks

I would say relay. Have you tried a code reader? Auto Zone (auto parts) here in the states will do it for free. Also for a quick fix try rebooting your computer in your car. how ?1.)removing both battery terminals 2.) go in and turn the key (this will drain power in any circuits) 3.) turn key off 4.)then for around 30 seconds then reconnect battery.
