Question about 1989 Toyota Pickup SR5

My 1989 Toyota Van LE 4wd started squeaking when I turn left

My 1989 Toyota Van started squeaking when I turn to the left. It doesn't do it when parked, only while driving. I already checked the power steering fluid, what else could it be?
(I had to choose a category, Toyota Van LE 4wd was not an option)

I suppose it could be a squeal. Would a belt issue only make noise while turning one way?

It's difficult to say whether it would only squeal in one direction -- lot of variables.

Why not check the belt -- press on it and see how much "slack" there is in it -- let me know what you find.

Would the sound be more like a squeal than a squeak?

It sounds like it could be a loose power steering belt.

Actually this sounds more like your left tire is rubbing against the tire well, this was relatively common amongst these models, as I have one myself that did that while turning right, I solved it by hammering out the dent that was in the well. Hope this helped GL!

M,y 2003 rav4 4wd steering wheel vibrates at high speed

the vibration can be your tires, it may need balance, or the tire is out of round. I had seen the tires wear unevenly can cause this. what I mean is because this 4 wheel all the time design, if any of the tire is worn more than the rest can also do that.
the noise is a different thing, it can be a ball joint or tie rod end

I have a 1988 toyota van le cargo 2.2 engine

Try spraying starting fluid into the intake of the air cleaner while someone else starts the car. Continue spraying the starting fluid for about 15-20 seconds. If the car starts, more than likely your fuel pump is bad. Check your fuses, and make sure you are getting power to the fuel pump. jpwtruck@yahoo.com

89 toyota pickup electrical problems

Sounds like you have an intermittent electrical problem. Check your positive battery wire going into your fuse box the connection becomes loose. I have seen 2 or 3 Toyota pickups have the a similar problem. Also check Battery connections and the ground cable.

If your pickup has a loose battery cables and/or wires it can not charge to it full potential no matter how new your alternator or your battery. Try turning on your head lights and wiggling your battery wires if the lights go dim or flicker, chances are that wire is loose or has a bad connection.
