1997 Cadillac brake line leak

Leaking from silver tube about a foot in front of rear, driver's side wheel (not from line itself). Is there a seal there that can be tightened or replaced, or does the whole line need to be replaced???

The best and safe way to fix it is to replace the line, you don't want to cut corners when it comes to the breaking system.

After adding Wynn's hydraulic valve lifter to the engine of my 2006 1.6 petrol ford focus and using a jet wash to clean under and around my front drivers wheel to remove excess oil due an old leak, my ABS...

Tut tut ,this focus has shimmed tappets not hydraulic so forget that ,now theoil leak is another thing and i suspect a oil seal on the front pulley RHD vehicle if drivers side ,as for the ABS its got water into a electrical connection and should be ok once it dries out .If a leak on a LHD vehicle drivers side then maybe a rear end oil seal ,now stop wasting money on bits you do not need but ask a local mechanic to have a look for you and some proper advice.

Replaced some brake line, rear pads and one rear wheel cylinder. Now no pressure and nothing happening when trying to bleed.

Does the car have ABS ? And does it have an equalizer block for the 4 wheels ?
It sounds like the ABS has been affected, or there is an equalizer block that is stuck on the front wheels only.
Can you open the bleeder or the rear line on the master cyl and get fluid to come out by depressing the pedal ?

I have a rover75classic 54 it is leaking water when it rains on near side is it a useual fault

Had same problem. Lift up rear seat on drivers side and you will see a steel tube running from the wheel arch under the seat. Tube is about 2 inches wide. If this is rusted underneath then water is getting via the wheel arch open end of the tube. It runs into the rear foot well and forward into drivers footwell, also runs under rear seats and into the boot! I removed the rear drivers side wheel, pulled away the plastic wheel arch lining then sealed the hole where the wiring leads through this pipe. Covered it with plastic flashing replaced the wheel arch lining. Took 30 mins to repair, took a week to dry the carpet, rear seats and boot carpet.

start from the rear driver side, and then the rear passenger side, and the front passenger side, and then the driver side make sure you keep plenty of fluid in the master cylinder during bleeding proccess

I have a ford f150 that i have redone the brakes but all i getting is a brake pedal and then goes to floor

Bleed your brakes, starting with Right rear, left rear, right front and ending with left front. You have air in the lines or a bad master cylinder. Bleeding is the cheaper of two options.

Leaking brake fluid from rear driver side wheel area. Whats the problem and fix? Thanks.

The wheel cylinder has a defective seal, and is leaking. A common problem due to age. Inspect the brake lines also and replace if needed. When you replace one wheel cylinder, replace the brakes and do the other side at the same time.

Oil gushing from trans.??????? changed valve cover gasget oil pan gasket someone told me the rear main seal????? how can i b sure

If it in fact it is the main seal you should see tranny fluid leak at the point where the engine bolts to the transmission. With car in park and brake on, start engine and carefully look under to see where the fluid is coming from. If you see no fluid leakage, place the front end (this assumes front wheel drive only) on jacks stands and block the back wheels. Have a friend start the car and with their foot on the brake place the car in drive and SLOWLY remove their foot from the brake and allow the front tires to spin (DO NOT REV ENGINE) watch for leakage as wheels turn. If you see leakage at the engine/tranny mating surfaces then yes I expect it would be your main seal. I'd take avery good look at tranny cooling lines to and from the radiator, if these leak it is very heavy.

I hope this may have assited you,
Tom
