Tucson switches off when stopped

Hi. I have a Hyundai Tucson 2.7 V6 which has done 60000km. Problem is when I stop the vehicle eg. when in traffic, the rev's just drop and the engine swithes off. I have just done the 60000km service. Does'nt happen all the time but often enough.

Thanks 'ghost4548' ...It was indeed the TPS that was the problem. Replaced the TPS and the Tucson is going fine now.

This sounds like a TPS (Throttle Position Sensor).. If you don't know how to check it.. take it in to a technician who know how. I'm a PLATINUM certified Hyundai Service Technician - I've seen this before and it frequently results in a BAD TPS. Without checking it myself, this is the only solutioin I can offer.

Why tucson produce lot of black smoke when driving up or racing

Black smoke is usually excess fuel, whereas blue smoke is excess oil. Bad coolant temp sensor, vacuum leak, bad maf, map, other. Best guess is coolant temp sensor as these often fail, making computer think engine is cold and thus causing way too much fuel delivery.

The type of motor oil for my Tucson

either 5w30 or10w30. some people use 5w30 in the winter its easier for the oil to get around cold and 10w30 in the summer others pick one and use it for the life of their car. as far as brand they are all just about the same. i've heard good about fully synthetic and i've experienced the bad part i've heard about before hand

My hyundia tucson keep cuting off when i drive the jeep and i have to stop it cut off any time i stop it cut off and when my foot on the brake it move when myfoot is on brake

If the vehicle is stalling when coming to a stop or slowing, look at your throttle position sensor on the throttle body. it is small, almost a box with 2 phillips head screws(not the sensor with hex head bolts, right behind it). If it is grey in color, change it.

mirandamcl,

I just took my 2006 Tucson in to have this fixed. It was simply that that hose from the air filter was not clamped on tight. That was 2 days ago, no more problem.
