Question about 1997 Buick LeSabre
It stoped working and the sacureity light is flashing.I was told to turn the key to on and wait for the sacureity light to go off but the light never did. What should I do?
If you get under the dash there are two very small white wires in an orange sheath and they go from the steering column to a 15 pin connector. these are the wires that read the key resistor. so you need to get a electrical meter and read the resistance of the pill in the key then get a resistor at radio shack of the same resistance and cut the two wires leaving the wires long enough to connect the resistor.. connect it to the ends coming from the 15 pin connector not the column. this replaces the resistor in the key so you dont need the special key anymore either.
