Question about 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis
ERRATIC FLICKERING OF DASH AND HEADLIGHTS AS IF SOMETHING WERE SHORTING OUT. THEY COME BACK ON TEMPORARILY BUT AGAIN GO BACK OUT
While this occurs; do you hear clicking near your right foot area while sitting in the drivers seat? it may be heard very faint (you may have to remove the sound barrier panel under the dash first. Does this problem only happen with "Automatic" lights? Does it happen while in the parking lamps position? I wish to suggest the light switch itself, or the connector at that switch may be loose, or the negative supplying the switch could be loose. But more likely, you should check for a defective BCM, or loose connections to it, located between the lower left of the ash tray area and the accerator petal area (the relay inside on the circuit board may have a bad solder connection to it) ... or the relay inside is bad period.
