i have a 2001 chevy tahoe with 176,000 miles, i was driving the other day as usual and all of a sudden my truck bogged out (died) as if i was out of gas. i spent an hour trying to start it and then finally was able to catch an idle barley getting me accross the street (bogging) to a gas station. i had planty of gas, oil was just above add indicator 2nd circle above add, i took battery to get checked and read it was completly dead, changed it out and still nothing, every once in awhile since then i attempt to start truck and sometimes able catch a quick start low idle boggs out and dies. battery volts shows just above 9 when key is in even with new battery that i got after the other one was said to be dead, i do remember before all of this battery was in the middle now not more towards 9 please help
have a friend listen for the pump to come on. if it does probably a clogged filter. if the pupm does not come buy some starting fluid . open the air intake for the air filter. spray some starting fluid into the intake and see if it starts. if so you have a feul delivery problem. most likely the pump
could be as simple as a dirty fuel filter. or maybe the fuel pump has died..i will go with the fuel filter since you were able to get it started again.. also when replacing your fuel filter you should go ahead and get new plugs and wires.. a small tune up wouldnt hurt and would only set you back 100.00 dollers maybe.. hope this helps

When driving the engine it will start slowing down and then just quit running. The more Throttle you give the worse it is. This happened suddenly when after driving it and it has been running fine. My friend put a gadget on it and it gave the code PO174, PO900, and PO171
