Question about 2005 Kia Sorento

1 Answer

03 Kia Sorento, both keyless remotes quit working.

I checked the fuses in both boxes and neither looked bad. I pulled the memory fuse and it looked good. I checked the battery in the remote and replaced but still nothing. I have this same problem with my 2005 Sorento. I have tried everything and nothing has worked so far. Any ideas?

We have tried the remotes in various parts of our city and with zero success. It appears the car is not receiving the signal because the remotes led is bright and responsive when buttons are pushed. Does the cars remote receiver have a reset button on it? Where would the remote receiver be located? Thanks,

Perplexing ... OK do the remotes work elsewhere from I'm assuming your driveway ... or do they work nowhere? (I was going on an radio interference theory here) As I've experienced this in close proximity (like 100 feet) from high power TV towers.
otherwise it sounds as they have all lost code simultaneously which has lottery jackpot odds ... Did you have a lightning strike nearby with both vehicles present? If these are OEM systems they may have to be re-activated (coded to your vehicle) at the dealer unless there are instructions on how to do this in the owners manual ...

On my 2005 kia sorento with no tail lights or dash lights any body know where i can get a electrical diagram for the relays behind the glove box

You can get diagrams from a dealership sometimes if you ask nice they will photo copy one out of the book. Most of the relays inside your car are behind the fuse box. Remove the knee bolster and look behind the interior fuse box they pug into the back of it.

How do you reset memory fuse in 2005 kia sorento

No such thing as resetting anything, certainly not a fuse, that is silly just to hear it

You need a dealer to resolve the issues you created & have
them explain how you get the radio & other items working,so you don't do it again

Have verified that my newly purchased 03 kia sorento has remote keyless entry, but professional locksmith cannot get new remote to program. Remote is Bontec T009, pretty sure it is correct one. Could it be...

Yes the 03 and up sorento has a keyless remote entry, You do not need to reset the ECU, you however need to reprogram the remote trasmitter to your car so they communicate, otherwise it will never work if you do not program it. You will need to take this to a kia dealership with the remote transmitter. They may or may not charge you for a fee. However I did had a remote, and it became damaged when my kid drop it in the fish tank. I was able to get it done at the dealship, 35 for the remote, and 50 for service fee. I did however found some link referal to manually do it yourself, Please check this forum out http://www.kia-forums.com/2003-2010-sorento-forum/34549-remote-keyless-entry.html. For me, I did not bother, because I did not want to take the chance to mess up something else.

Replaced batteries in both keyless remotes and checked all fuses labeled as keyless entry. all good. still inop

if you put the keys in door does it open fully and can you start the car with the key(without the key symbol showing)if you can, simply reseting the alarm/immobiliser should reset the remotes.

Just tow choice in your 2003 Kia Truck Sorento 3.5L SFI DOHC 6cyl:
- Your Ignition Switch is damaged; or,
- Your wires for the Warning Buzzer Relay is damaged.

Even when the OFF position any connection is open and drain your battery.

Fuel pump is not working

The fuel pump should be on a seperate circuit. its own. I haven't had the privilkage of working on a KIA but look unser the hood for a secondary fuse box, usually a covered box. The higher current fuses are usually on their little moon. Good luck
