Sounds to me like a leaking heater core, probably just started. Quite an extensive operation to replace. If you happen to be in a cold climate, the windows will undoubtedly fog up. Hope this helps

SMOKE IS COMING FROM MY CROWN VIC VENTS THEN I SMELL A SWEET SMELL

the smoke is probably coolant steam and the sweet smell is the unique aroma of engine coolant (anti-freeze). check the carpets, they may be wet with coolant. most likely a heater core failure.

99 Grand Am Smoke Exhaust

I'm sorry to say your engine may be cooked.
Since you are adding both oil and coolant, and the color of the smoke is gray or white, you have the signs of the engine burning coolant.
The common cause is a leaking head gasket.

I have a 1998 lincoln navigator and steam is coming through the vents and water is coming from under the hood what could this be?

steam from vents and coolant leaking indicated a bad heater core, you will smell the coolant if this is the case.

I have a 99 Saab 9-5 2.3L turbo. When I shifted it would blow white smoke for a second. Yesterday it started billowing smoke then died. Now it won't start and it turns over very rough. Please help.

Generally white smoke is a sign of coolant in the engine.
Its possible you have blown the head gasket and coolant is leaking into one or more of the cylinders.
You could pull the spark plugs and check for coolant - also run a compression test.

Smoke coming through air vents

Is it smoke? Or is it steam? If it's really smoke, it will smell like burning wires and you have an electrical short somewhere. You're going to have a fire unless it's fixed.
My guess is that it's probably not smoke or you would have already had a fire.
With that said I'm going to say that it's steam in which case your heater core (which is a small radiator located under the dash) is leaking coolant and the resulting steam is rising through the vents. The steam will have a sort of sweet and yes, a steamy smell to it. It will also leave a funny film from the radiator coolant coating the inside of the windshield.
The heater core should be replaced if my assumptions are correct.

My lincoln is shot smoke out of the vents when I turned the defroster on and there is a strange smell comming from the vents as well. Also, the front window will not defrost but i can get cold and hot air....

The smell you are probably smelling is leaking coolant coming from your heater core, check your coolant level and see if its low if its low you are probbaly loosing your coolant because of a bad heater core, if this is the case i wouldnt drive the vehical until its repaired, if you run the car out of coolant you run the risk of engine damage from overheating and that would be a very expensive repair.....

What is causing my Lincoln Ls 2000 V6 to blow smoke out of the vents? Smells like oil possibly.

the smoke is coolant be vaporized over the heater core, u need to replace the heater core, this requires removing the entire dash assembly, a 12 hour job in this car.

WHITE EXAUST SMOKE WATER VAPORE COMING THROUGH AIR VENT CUTS OUT WHEN DRIVING LIGHT COMES ON AN OF CAR ACTS UP BURNS OIL

Well, this definitely sounds like you have a blown head gasket, and maybe a busted heater core (water vapor out of air vents). Both were probably caused by the car overheating creating a lot of pressure in the cooling system and blowing the head gasket(s) and maybe the heater core. The vapor out of the vents could also be caused by external coolant leakage of the head gasket on the hot engine bringing the vapor inside the cab via the heater fan...

I'd get that checked before any major engine damage happens...

Smoke coming out vents when defrost is on and temp gauge goes up and down in 1994 Taurus

The fluctuation in the temp gage indicates a low coolant situation. The smoke you see from the defroster vent is actually antifreeze that is leaking from the heater core somewhere and as the antifreeze evaporates from the heat it causes a vapor to produce. You should smell a very sweet smell when you see the vapor. If so it is definitely antifreeze. Find the leak and fix it. Then refill your coolant system to specs and you should be good to go.
