Question about 1989 GMC Sierra

1 Answer

Rusted I am thinking of buying a 1989 GMC pickup. It is highly rusted on the part by the box, i don't know what this part is called but its right infront of the box. I wanted to know the average cost it would cost to fix this problem.

I have the same truck, there is alot of part availiable at cheap costs. i belive what you are talking about is a cab corner. they are about 50 bucks. you can do body work youself with basic hand tools and a welder (more serious)
all in all you can probably do it your self for under 100 bucks

If it's a hydraulic operated clutch, as I think it is, then no, there is no adjustment. Only the cable operated clutches were adjustable. But there is a clutch pedal height and free-play adjustment that needs to be correct. Freeplay distance is 3/16 to 5/8 inch, adjusted at the pedal end of clutch pushrod. I don't know the pedal height for your pickup (you'll have to ask some toyota person), but the adjustment is made near top of pedal where it contacts the stopper bolt.

I have a 1991 toyota pick up that won't start. I have spark the and it seems as the truck wants to start but i don't think its geting fuel. Fuel preasure is good. what should i check next?

An injector pulse tester is called a "noid light". You plug it into the injector connector, and, cranking, it should flash, or blink. Try it on each injector connector.Buy them from any parts store. Blinking light means you are getting power to the injectors. The igniter tells the computer when to ground the injector signal, so it will operate and spray fuel into your cylinder. goodluck.

Yes it is a throttle body injection, looks very similar to an older style carburetor, warning! Do not turn ignition key on during removal of injectors, remove negative battery cable before removal, lightly coat rubber orings with petroleum jelly before installation.
