Front end makes clunking noise

Hi i have a 2001 toyota echo everytime it hits a little crack in the road the front end sounds like it's going to fall apart. the guy i took it to told me that it was the outer tie rod. I changed them and now it the same problem, i took it back to him he jacked it up told me to move the wheels from side to side, then after a couple of minutes he told me that i will have to wait untill it gets worse so he can figure out the problem. Do you have any suggestions of what it might be, because i am driving up and down waiting for it to get worse but it still sounds the same

Jack one of the front tires off of the ground say 1 inch .. put a bar under the tire and **** it up and down to check the ball joints.. you will have to have someone help you with this .. you can see if there is movement in the lower and upper ball joint this way.. then try the other side same way check it before you are afoot.. also look at your shocks and make sure they are not loose on the bottom or the rubbers are gone where they tighten up on the car.. holler if i can help more Jerry

Knocking Noise from Front End Toyota Corolla 2004

Ensure the wheel nuts and Axle nuts are properly torqued to the specification. Lift up the front wheels, place supports under the car and do the following:
- Sit if front of right wheel, slightly move it right and left and feel any abnormal noise if coming out of it. If click-click or Tuck-Tuck sound is observed it could be due to the excessive play in the tie rod end, rack end, ball joint wheel bearing or U joint. Next hold the Tire with your one hand at the top and with other hand at the bottom. Shake the Tire inside out and feel any noise or play. If play is observed, it could be the worn out ball joint or the wheel bearing. Now hit the Tire at the top with rubber hammer and observe any rattling noise coming from near the center of the wheel. If you could listen to the extra noise it could be due to the dried up caliper pins. Grease the pins with graphite grease. If all is found fine, similarly check the left wheel and repair as necessary.

Check all the bushings and make sure they are not loose. General Motors bushings are prone to cracking.

How can I stop my ABS brakes from occasionally activating even when I come to a gentle stop. I coast to a stop, hit the brake, and the front end feels like it's gonna fall off. The sound it makes is...

You can unplug the ABS, and it will be disabled. Doesn't sound like that's the problem, though. Have your front end checked, brakes, suspension, wheels, CV axles, everything. Before it cripples you on the road.

first off the alt. belt is too tight. loosen it. should go away. and if its a clunk in the frount end i would guess it is your struts or bushings or both.

Driving down road there is a roaring sound even when you slow down. Appears to be tire noise. Tires are wearing out on the inside. When you hit a bump there is a clunking sound underneath.

Sounds like you have some bad bushings, ball joints, or bearings. Take it into the repair shop unless you have the special tools to repair a Jag front suspension. The parts falling off my Jag are of the finest British make!!

This sounds like the anti-rattle springs where left out of the brake calipers.
