You can take it to a nearby aftermarket parts place, and they will likely do it for free. you can also "brain dead" the car, but i don't recommend it. to brain dead disconnect battery cables, touch them together and have a friend press the break pedal. it is supposed to dissipate the charge in all the capacitors, but i think its a risky maneuver in general.

a code shouldn't have set unless it was on during the repair or you forgot to plug it back in....

My ABS, traction control, and steering assist lights are on in my 2004 pontiac grand prix gt. The rear wheel bearing assembly was just replaced. what would cause this?

Hi, the wheel speed sensor and tone ring are built into the bearing/hub assembly. Make sure the new hub contains an ABS wheel sensor and the cable was properly connected. If it is properly connected, the new hub may be defective.

Changed front wheel bearings hub now abs service light and trac light come on what is causing this do i need to replace rear wheel bearing hub

When they replaced the wheel bearings there are sensors connecting to the hub I would make sure that the sensors are connected and that there is no corrosion on the connectors.

Why is my abs light on in my 03 chevy? and on the passanger side the front tire is roaring really bad when i drive, please help

Ok, there are sensors on your front wheel hubs. This could easily cause the abs light to turn on. The loud noise could easily be your wheel hub going bad. Easiest way to check, jack up the front of the truck, grab tire, shake back and forth and up and down. Same amout of play each way? You're wheel hub is bad.......

ABS error code 41 & 42

41 indicates Rpm sensor, at left front wheel, 42, is right front sensor. I'd check for dirt in and around both, clean connections, and wire brush or whatever the toothed ring to clean it all up, then clear codes & see what happens.

All the hubs on the car have the abs sensor built into the hub. The abs system has to be re set to read the sensor . The rear hub bearing if noisy should be replaced. There are wiring harnesses that connect to the abs sensor. The harnesses to each of the abs sensor should be replaced.
