Question about 2002 Chevrolet S-10
By pushing your parking break in about 1 click (so the break isn't engaged) you can turn them off. Unfortunately disabling the DRL system is a total pain. It can be done, but since your asking this question and not just doing it I take it your not an electrcian. The power for the DRL system is delivered through the same wire that controls your High beams so it's not as simple as cutting a wire. If you know what a step down transformer looks like you can kill that and it will kill your DRL system, if you don't find someone who does and ask for their help. You can try this,
On some newer GM models it may be possible to press the "Dome Override" button 3 or 4 times within 6 seconds. This will disable the DRLs while the vehicle is running. When it is restarted, the DRL function will reset to "always on." We've heard that this works on full-size and S-series trucks.
Or this>98 and up DRL
Remove the cover on the fuse box under the hood. Locate the DRL relay. Locate pin 87A and 30 on the relay. DO NOT MODIFY PINS 87A OR 30. Bend or cut the other pins off the relay. ( I recommend bending the pin incase you bend the wrong one, you can always straighten it). Then plug the realy back in and check to make sure the DRLs are off and you still have high beams
or this>99 and up AHL
Remove passenger side speaker grill on dash. Unplug wire from the light sensor (little ball sticking up from the grill). Insert 2.2k Ohm 1/2 watt resistor into plug, and use a zip tie to strap the plug down to the dash. Reinstall grill.
Like I said if none of that makes sense to you find a kid that builds computers or an electrician it will make sense to them. Don't do anything that you can't undo. Good Luck!
