Question about Audi AllRoad

1 Answer

I just bought a 2003 Audi Allroad and have experienced 2 problemd when filling up with gas. First, I went to 4 different gas stations and couldn't put gas in the tank unless I went EXTREMELY slow. I pulled back on the shroud of the pump but that didn't help. Second, I finally found a station that would work. However, I let it fill automatically and it never shut off and overflowed a gallon or so before I could shut it off. What's the deal??

There could be a restriction in the vent line from the tank to the filler neck.since you went to several different stations, then it is safe to assume that the pumps are not broken (which is common) and that the problem must be on the car. Have the vent line checked. ------------------------- Your car should be equipped with a vent hose located right next to the main fill pipe. When you find it, check to make sure it is not kinked or plugged.if its blocked it will get the pressure from inside as it will not shuttoff  and overload the gas.

keep updated.thanks.please do rate the solution.thank you for using fixya.

My cigarette lighter outlets no longer work with car chargers. Do I need to replace a fuse and where is the fuse box on my 2003 allroad?

For 2003 Audi Allroad the fuse box is located on the left side of dashboard behind a plastic cover (for left hand steering wheel vehicle). On inner face of the plastic cover you will find the fuse diagram. Fuse no.# 33 (15A) = Cigarette lighter (for front & rear sockets).

low tech solution .i had this for 2 weeks the car sat there.i solved it by putting a tight filled with uncooked rice in the back of the boot there is a compartment on the passenger side, this is where the control unit for the suspension is having had a leak in the front of my allroad it sent the computer mad and after solving the leak i needed to dry it out .the rice absorbs moisture from around it. i found a gap in the window surround above it .i sealed the gap first .it doesnt cost much it involves almost no effort & after a couple of days it started to work again. cheaper than a mechanic .odd but it worked on mine

I use 87 octane with Lucas Oil fuel additive. Car runs noticeably better, gets better mileage and solved problem with engine fouling in cold weather (which caused check engine light to trip). Audi dealer service rep told me that premium cold weather fouling has been traced to additives commonly used in premium fuel. That service rep "unofficially" recommends using 87 octane to customers experiencing problems with engine fouling in cold weather starts.
