With my personal experience that I have in all the vehicles with similar problems the solution is the same. Transmission tune-up believe me, the fluid is low or the filter is clogged and the fluid has lost its lubricity that's all. Do not get convinced you need a new transmission or some other sensor. Its more economic to give it a tune-up before assuming anything else is wrong with the vehicle. Check my advice on a trans tune-up. If you already replaced sensors and messed with whatever else once you do the tune-up it might not be as new. Because things that affect the transmission were tampered with. But after the tune-up you will be able to drive it with no worries. First off all check the trans fluid level, if low find the leak, repair it if any then do the tune-up. If the fluid is low and you find red oil underneath the radiator, engine or transmission let me know.

If you mean you can't move the shifter lever at all? Then you have a problem with the interlock. Here is a write up on the problem:

Dodge durango 2000 stop runing at20to55mi.per hr.

The fuel filter is clogged. This will restrict fuel pressure, not allowing the engine to receive the proper amount of fuel thus choking the motor. If this was at all helpful, please rate. Thanks for asking.

Having problems with my dodge durango not shifting properly

For the person having shifting issues with your Durango I would say its the throttle " Kickdown " cable located on top of the engine and to the right side along side the throttle valve and throttle body, It needs to be taken out of its bracket and adjusted you either pull it forward and/or back then place it back in, you may need to do this repeatily until you find the right spot, and once you find the right positon for it your shifting issues should stop, I know this to be true because I own the same vehicle, and after spending a lot of $$$ and time with others I learned the hard way. I hope this helps.

I have a 2000, there is a speed sensor located in top of the rear axel and I believe another on the tranny housing. Try the rear axel first.

2000 durango 4.7 v8 tranny slip or something. Plzz help!!!

First thing you want to do, is get all that additive stuff out of there & get new filter & proper fluid in there. Mopar ATF 4. then disconnect battery for minute or 2 & start fresh as far as storing trouble codes goes. Chrysler transmissions don't react well to improper fluids or additives. If it starts to act up again, or check engine light comes on, have it scanned for codes at Autozone, or Pep boys & see what codes if any, come up. Don't prolong any transmission problem, as it will only cost you more in the end, if you don't take care of it right away.
