First hope u have a timing light, there should be a pos.and neg.
wires, red to pos side of battery and black to neg.side, and a third
wire hooks on #1 spark plug, if u need to adj. timing there is a
nut under the distributor u loosen and turn to left or right.and timing
mark are in the front crank pulley.

Idles fine at start up. starts to sputter and stall out when warm. no codes. replaced maf sensor, fuel filter, plugs and wires, fuel pump screen. how do I check the timing. has 286,000.


Possible problems could be 1 cloghed cathalytic converter 2 cloghed or damage EGR system 3 bad fuel pressure regulator 4 timming of by worn timming chain 5 timming off by bad or mis aligned - distributor 6 bad crank sensor 7 bad ECM computer 8 Bad groud distribution 9 blown head gasket

ON THE ARM GEAR! THERE IS A SMALL CLIP THE HOLD THEM ON THE GEAR! YOU'LL NEED TO TAKE A SMALL SCREW DRIVER, AND PRY THE CLIP AWAY FROM THE GEAR, WHILE RAISING THE ARM OFF THE GEAR!

1997 Nissan/Datsun Truck Pickup 4WD 2.4L SFI 4cyl
The Fuel Filter is located under hood, passenger side, front side of shock tower, mounted in fuel line .

Choking in the morning and after rain, but it is gone after driving for 10 minutes


Pour a little water around the base of the coil while running and if engine stops running thats the problem.Coils tend to get small cracks that moisture gets into.Caused by engine heat and its own high operating temp.
