Question about 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Oil leak from sensor

My roomate has a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4.0L V6 and he is leaking oil in a steady stream right above his oil filter. It's coming from an eletrical connection. The best that I can tell, this would be the oil pressure sensor. Is this fixable by simply pushing the white rubber grommet back into the fitting, or is this a must replace? If so, what is the name of the part because I can't find it under "oil pressure sensor" for that year Jeep.

It's called an oil pressure sending unit. There are two versions one for vehicles with a light on dash, one for those with a gauge. It's not expensive and MUST be replaced. Not hard to do.

Lots of oil leaking under the Jeep. Down to no oil right now. Rainbow trail, etc. Want to know worst case scenario...ballpark cost to fix, etc.

Could be a simple fix. Have you found where the oil is leaking from? I had a 93 Grand Cherokee that was leaking oil badly and I found it to be the oil pressure switch that was leaking all that oil. It only cost a few dollars to fix. Check exactly what is leaking first to determine what it will cost.
