Question about 1999 Ford Expedition
The 1999 Expedition starts OK when cold. After it is driven even just a short distance, parked and shut off, nothing happens when the ignition key is turned. No click......no nothin'! In addition, all of the lights seem to work fine during this time, but the radio won't play.
If it sits for an hour to cool down, turn the ignition key and engine cranks and vehicle starts and runs fine (and the radio works). Again, try to start it when warm.....nothin' happens at all.
What should I be lookin for?
You have a bad starter. A faulty starter will function when its cold but when it heats up, it takes more energy to get the starter to engage. Your problem is exhibiting the classic symptoms of a bad starter. I hope this solves your problem and the best of luck to you.
