Black plastic channel guide under my driver seat in 2003 Park Ave

Black plastic channel guide under my driver seat has extended out (toward front of car) about a foot or so. Can't get it back in and out of sight. This thing somehow got pushed out by power seat being operated back and forth.

The best I can describe it is that it looks like an upside down "U" with sharp 90 degree corners and it's been pushed out by the seat being moved back and forth.

Assuming I can't get it back in place what would be the worst case scenario if I just pulled it out and got rid of it?

  • roncollver May 11, 2009

Thanks, I'll get to work on it.

This is the cover for the rail upon which the seat slides. It has come loose. Don't know how it attaches but maybe you could look under the seat to get some idea of the problem.

My guess is you could just tap it back under the seat to get it out of the way, but it will probably come forward again -- need to inspect to see if it can be fixed/reattached. It may just need some lubrication -- try WD-40 first.

Well, I would say the seat might not glide easily back and forth. But, it may still work. I guess worst case is the seat motor could overheat and maybe "fry?".

I would take it out and see how the seat moves back and forth. If there's noticeable difference, I would pursue trying to get this part back in place.

Code. 22 on air bag system

Code 22 is the drivers side seat restraint/airbag circuit. Most people solve this by cleaning and improving the connectors on under the plastic cover on between the seat and the door, against the floor. You remove the cover by putting the seat right up and sliding the cover off towards the front of the car. You can then unplug the exposed plugs, spray in some kind of cleaner, and maybe compress/bend the pins and female side to make sure they are mconnecting solidly.

Power seat will not work on any positions 1996 park ave drivers side passenger side works

If NONE of the functions work for the driver's seat, I would suspect a boken wire. Check the ORANGE wire on Pin "L" at the seat switch connector. This should have power at all times.

Pin "A", the BLACK wire should be ground. It grounds at G200, which is located in the left front kick panel.

If both of these wires are good and functioning properly, then you most likely have a fried seat control switch.

What is the flat rate time for replacing the wiring harness from the drivers door to under the dash on the drivers side on a 2003 Buick Park Ave. Ultra?

The flat rate guides do not provide labor times for replacing wiring harnesses. You are basically at the mercy of the technician who is responsible for the job. I searched Alldata, Mitchell and Mitchell's collision repair labor guides to find your answer, and none of them publish a labor guide for any wiring harnesses. Sorry.

On my 98 buick park ave, i lost power to all my door locks, my trunk release and my radio, and at the same time a squealing started in the front end, sounds like brakes... and also, my battery keeps...

First off you have three fuse boxes in your car, 1 big one under the hood on the passenger side, next is under the dash on the passenger side, you get to this one by removing the kick plate {plastic cover} you have to look closly as this is the hardest one to find and get at, the third one and the one your probably going to need is the one under the back seat, don't worrie it's easy to remove, all you do is grab hold of the bottom of the seat in the middle and pull up in a quick jolt, the seat is very light and very easy to put back, the fuse box is right there and is black and has a black knob you undo, look inside the lid and you will see a diagram telling you what is what.

GMC usually puts there fuel filters on the drivers side under the drivers seat area (along the frame) or it will be close to the fuel tank itself.

But in your case I believe that it will be driver side frame area....
