The front end of my 99 chevy van shakes between 40 n 65 mph. i got my tires balenced, sway bar n tire rod, but it still shakes...what could it b?

I'm sure you have already had tires balanced and rotated but figured I would make sure. The other thing you could check are your control arms/Bearings and/ pitman arm. There is also the small possibility that it could be your shocks.Hope this points you in the right direction.

HHR 2006. Front end shaking. Had a mechanic look & told me struts/shocks, car made poorly ... low, etc. NOW when start and driving loud noise similar to diesel cars--putt, putt. Drives alright....

Get a second and third opinion from other local mechanics.
Does the shaking chang with speeds? It possible you have a tire with slipped internal belt.
Could be a few other things too..
Sound issue may or may not be related. Have more than one guy look at it.

How to replace front shocks in a 92 Lexus Es300? can I replace them myself n have a shop do the alingment?

Your Lexus has struts and unless you have access to a spring compressor and air tools, personally I wouldn't recommend it. Any competent shop should be able to do it reasonably, lots offer sales so shop around (Sears, Midas, etc..) and 99% of the time they don't have to re-align your car. (unless the worn parts have worn/damaged steering parts)

When I get up to 60 mph I have a shaking in my front end . I think my tires my have to be balenced but what else can couse this problem

Yes you are right, at the same time have your shocks checked and while they are balancing the tyres make sure the rims are not buckled/damaged

The shock on my front right tire is sitting on the

it's not a shock it's called a strut and there are two bolts that attatch it to the spindle , it can be adjusted but will require an alingment .

Front end and steering wheel shakes

Most common problem would be tires are out a balance. Or, the tires are out of round ( meaning the tires have a hop to it; not completely round ).

Saab 93 - noisy when going over bumps on the road.

Have you tried driving over a bump whilst also applying the brakes? (Right foot on gas, left gently on brake - with no one behind you!) If the noise goes away, then it could be the brake pads that are not fitted correctly. Only posting this, as this just happened to mine...the mechanic took it over bumps and noise was there. Applied brakes whilst going over bump, noise went away. Replaced badly fitted rear pads (had been bodged by another garage) and the problem was solved.

Steering problem

Shocks are usually pretty much shot after 45-50K. Also check damper (sideways shock on steering linkage). Shake is either wheel balance or a worn steering component (should have been checked before alignment...shame on them if they didn't)
