You might want to try an old trick that I have use twice in life but it accomplished the goal without problem.
When you are due for an oil change, preferably with the oil level somewhat low (don't overfill), add a quart of kerosene to the crankcase and let the engine idle for 20-30 minutes; do NOT drive it or race the engine since the kerosene is a lousy lubricant and you want it to function only as a solvent for the possible buildup of sticky crud that might be impeding things.
Drain the crankcase completely, allowing the thing to drip for an hour to get the majority of the oil-kerosene mix out of the engine and then fill 'er up with fresh oil.
If you decide to try this, please post back to this thread so hat others might benefit from your experience.

They are not adjustable, if they are noisy then there is a mechanical problem causing the noise, please note that noise at cold start is normal as long as it goes away in a few seconds.

Set timiing

You have a "locked" distributor. There is no adjustment. All timing "decisions" are made by the computer after reading the info from the sensors on the engine. Ones that influence timing most are the throttle position sensor and Manifold air pressure (MAP) sensor, though all play a part.

If you have zero oil pressure thats a BAD sign, first have a mechanic check what the engines actual oil pressures are.

Connector has a release clip on it. Part itself is held on by two torx screws. Keep the new part straight and make sure it engages the throttle shaft when replacing it. There is no adjustment.

1997 jeep grand cherokee laredo replace collapsed lifter 4.0l il6

What motor do you have? The V8, you can remove just the intake manifold and the valve covers/rocker arms to remove the lifter. The V6, I believe you need to remove the head to access the lifters.

draw this on a paper

u start with no1 get the valves rocking which means turn engine over by hand til no 1 rockers one rocker is going up and the is going down u may have to turn the engine back and forth slowly
to see it . once u have no 1 rocking u can adjust no 6 valves adjust them with a little clearance so the push rod still spins freely

next look at chart
1 rocking adjust 6
5 rocking adjust 2
3 rocking adjust 4
6 rocking adjust 1
2 rocking adjust 5
4 rocking adjust 3

once u have made these adjustments recheck firing order 153624
try and restart engine if it starts the turn all rocker ajuster a further 1/4 of a turn and your done u may have too wait a bit of time for the liffters to bleed down after u do final adjustment if it dont start

hope it helps please leave rating and if u need more help let me know
