Clunk in rear end after braking

My 94 jeep cherokee clunks in the rear end after coming to a stop. when i hit the gas it will make a clunk noise like something is letting loose. when i was investigating i found that all abs relay's and fuses are missing from my relay box. O.K. WHY?

Someone likely disabled abs before you got it? However, check the rear universal joint on the driveshaft (in neutral, wheels blocked)

The solution is to replace the rear lower control arm bushings.

I don't have a solution yet but my 94 jeep cherokee does the very same thing. I thought it might be in the rear axile.

I hear a loud clunking noise coming from the rear of the truck every time i take off from a stop

Three things: Either the rear brakes are releasing, causing a clunk, try service and adjust rear brakes. If not, go to the drive shaft, check the u-joints and/or jack up the rear of the truck and rotate your tires by hand to see if there is a clunk in the rear end itself.

My 94 Jeep grand cherokee has a thunking noise that sounds as if it comming from the front end when i turn or step on the brakes.. i checked the sway bar and nothing seems wrong.. please help

Jeeps are one of those vehicles that has some PROs and CONs. One big con is the front-end. Its never just one thing, LOL. You need to check out the front-end, thoroughly. Check all the components, check out the ball joints, tie-rod ends, u-joints, shocks, wheel bearings, and brake components. You can also inspect the wheel lug-nuts.

Rear end clunk in Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup

The noise is caused by the axle button being worn out, this lets the axle move back and forth and clunk, this is a unique problem with C clip retained axles, it is a noise issue but will not fail and cause any more damage, in order to fix it you must have the axles pulled and the diff carrier checked for excess wear where the axle retainning C clip rides, if the carrier is ok then replace the axles.

Clunking noise in the rear of the vehicle is a broad statement. When is the vehicle doing it? Is it all the time or just over bumps? Is it happening only going around curves? Is it a constant bump that speeds up and slows down with the vehicle speed. You would be supprised how many clunking noises can come from the driveline not the suspension. It could be anything from a bushing to your rear differential getting ready to grenade.
