Question about BMW 525
The fuel filters on these are found underneath the vehicle, on the nearside. You normally have to remove a panel of varying sizes depending on which 5 series your after up near the catalytic converter part of the undercar.
The newer models will also have a electronic connector to the fuel filter that you would also need to disconnect, as well as a type of clip that holds on a "mini" filter onto the actual filter. (the fuel filter will always be the larger one) On some of the older models you can see it and with the help of the fuel lines from the fuel tank, trace them towrads the front and theres your filter.
Be aware when replacing that the filter flows the fuel flow in the correct direction i.e towards the engine. Normally when replacing with a genuine part it will have an arrow imprinted on the side of the filter to show this.
Hope this helps!
