How many miles? Have you replaced the thermostat? Usually two fans go to work when the A/C is being used. Have you ever replaced the water pump? If not consider timing belt as well because it's in the same area of engine and are usually done together.

Check your fuses but mainly the relays in the engine compartment for the fans. Try swapping around the fan relays when the car is hot and off, then turn it on and see if the fan works. Try this first, if the fan works get a bunch of relays from the junk yard. If you get both fans working and it still overheats replace the thermostat.

Does the second fan come on when the ac is on? If it does then that is how it's supposed to work. Could be that the radiator is obstructed (external or internal)

Solution I just posted is valid but don't rate it!!! I generally give longer more detailed solutions.

Unless it's leaking, leave the pump alone...get the overheat fixed then if you need to change the timing belt, do it.

Why my A/C condenser fan won t stop running, dodge ram 2008

To clarify, the compressor and fan will run in defrost mode. The compressor and fan runs to dry out the air blowing onto the windshield.
Now if the condenser fan runs in "heat" you may have a problem with the fan relay or the main controller.

No heat till you start driving and then fan will kick on and not shut off but it doesnt overheat

You won't get heat right away. The heat has to have time to reach the heater core. That's where you get the heat for the passenger compartment. But if the fan isn't turning off, then I would have it checked for an electrical problem.

Before! My car ran hot when I turned on a/c. At one time I was running 50/50 antifreeze. I changed the thermostat, and mechanic friend said take radiator top off run car for 15min to get water out of...

Never ever put undiluted coolant/antifreeze in your vehicle. It is to thick and will cause even more overheating and other problems as well. One fan should run almost the instant you turn the A/C on.
The other fan is controled by coolant temperature. You should check the fan relays, fuse's and coolant temperature sensors for proper operation. Also clean the condensor and radiator fins with a good stream of water from a garden hose, not high pressure water at a car wash. The water pump may be worn out as well.

Motor overheats if sitting still, a/c works while driving, but when I stop, it starts blowing hot air. Not sure if fan is coming on

open the hood, start the car and wait til it comes to normal temp. wait and see if the fan/s kick in. If they don't then there is a problem with the fan circuit or you have a bad fan. Turn on the a/c and see if the fan instantly turns on. if the fan does't turn on, then the fan may be faulty.

I just purchased a 92 honda prelude. the car temp for the most part was fine until u step on it a little bit then she starts to over heat. i guy told me to replace the cooling fan sensor and i did. didnt...

Is the thermostat installed correctly? There is a bleed hole on the thermostat with a rivet in it. That should be up. Is the coolant level topped off? There should be a bleed screw on the manifold if I remember correctly. Honda's are very sensitive to coolant level. Check the cooling fans to see if they are running. The left one should be for cooling and the right fan for when a/c is turned on. You can jumper the plug for the coolant temp sensor ( where the lower radiator hose attaches to the block) and the fan should run when the car is running. If all else fails, you should have your cooling system pressure tested as this could be a blown head gasket.

Heater puts out low heat

210 degrees is a average temperature for most cars. However if its not for yours I would check to see if the cooling fan in the engine compartment runs continuously or shuts off. Check right at start up, let the truck sit overnight, start the truck in the morning and see if the fan comes on instantly, it shouldn't. If it never turns off there is a problem with the electrical circuit, bad relay, short to ground, short to power etc.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, AUTO ZONE SAYS COOLING FAN SHORTAGE

If the fuse is blowing there is too much resistance in the cooling fan moter. Replace JUST the cooling fan motor and the fuse. The A/C always turns the cooling fan ON when turned on. That is why the A/C messes up when the fan motor is bad. Replace the fan motor and the A/C problem will be fixed too. :)
