Timing on vortec 350youkon how to do this
I have vortec 350 in 1996 youkon need to know the rigth way of putting the dist back in to time the engine to get it to run some one took the dist out and don't know how to do this rigth

unplug distributor! find #1 cylinder, take out spark plug,placr finger over spark plug hole,bump starter until compression blows finger from spark plug hole,align mark on harmonic balancer with 0 mark on timing cover. engine is on compression stroke.install distributor with rotor contact pointing toward #1 wire location on distributor cap. install plug. install wire. engine will start.
