Question about 1988 Mazda MX-6

1 Answer

I was parked facing up hill and it rained when i got in the car and on flat land at least a gallon of water went down my back. I was wondering where the drain lines are so i can check to see why they are not draining, can you tell me where they are or do you know where a diagram is so i can see generally where there supposed to drain too?

I went to where i work and dragged an air hose out to my car and blew the corners out with high pressure air. Poured water on the slider and watched for it to come out. When i saw all four corners draining i knew i was done. Was fine lastnite and it rained something awful.

1999 Toyota sienna won't go into park the light does not show around the p so it is not registering that it's in park

is it a light only issue or park actually fails (car cant roll)
are you on flat ground, ? no hills?
or where?
there should never be park inhibit ever, (reverse of that is a feature)
only wheel against a curb or on a huge rock can stop park.
so move car 1inch and try again.
and never set the park first, always last after hand brake.
and 10x more important on hills and curbs.
the park has a huge notch that a pawl must fit , so if the tires are blocked, the pawl cant land on a notch.
need a video of the pawl i have it, makes undestanding park in 1 second flat.

check for a fuel leak along the line. some where you have a loose fitting ie at the fuel filter, fuel line that is allowing the fuel to drain back to the tank The angle of the vehicle shows that airis being sucked into the system somewhere

Runs out of gas on hill when parked nose down.

If you have a 30 gallon tank this can happen on steeper hills. the sending unit holds the pump in a canister that holds about a quart of fuel. if the canister is not sitting in fuel it willnot **** it into the canister. when the fuel is used in the canister your car dies. pretty normal. hope this helps

Shift gear is locked I removed the cup holder and pushed in the lever and it still wont go into gear

If your parked on a hill you may have torque lock,if facing down hill you need to push car up hill to release shifter, if facing up hill you need to push car up hill to release shifter. To stop this from happening again apply park brake before putting into park.

After it rains we have noticed that the rear passenger side floor well gets very wet, sometimes standing water. What could cause this?

water leak at the roof ditch moulding, the rear window seal, or the moon roof drains being plugged.

Does it do it without moving the car? Could be water splash in the wheel well through a sealer skip in a seam.

Facing up hill or down hill or both?

Lift up seat cushion and lift carpet and follow water stain path to source.

See if you have a WATER DOCTOR franchise near you. They keep a record of common sources of leaks for their repair techs.

1996 Chryslser Sebring Convertible leaks on left side from rain

Water goes between the front and rear window and is supposed to go through a trough and drain out of the bottom of the car. often the drains along the bottom (4 very small slits) get clogged and water will back up into the floorboards. just drive a flat head screwdriver in these slits and it will let the water out! (watch out about 2 gallons came out of mine!)
