Question about 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
I am trouble shooting an engine miss at idol and fluctuating RPM's during operation. What are proper procedures to remove the coil and spark plugs on this 4 cylinder 1.8l engine? What tips do you have for visual inspection of the components? How fragile are the components?
Before you do all of that, have you had the egr recall done? There was a recall to repair the egr tubes on this year/model, not all vehicles had to get it done, to my knowledge, but you may call your local dealer with your VIN to see if your car qualifies for it. Symptoms are: rough idle, possible engine kill, slow acceleration, the feeling of a mis-fire, etc. I looked at replacing my MAF sensor but when the recall repair was made she purred like a kitten again.
