1998 Toyota Corolla 120000 Mile Service

I realize that this is a major service, but I was wondering what parts of the engine need replacement or maintenance on a standard service. I just wanted to know what the standard service entails so I have an idea of what really needs to be done when I take it to my mechanic. Any help to my question would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

U will need the timing belt, the hoses should be checked and the coolant flushed, the spark plugs should have been done at 100,000.

You also need to check you alternator belt, ac belt for cracks or Serpentine belt for wear and tear and replace if need to. You also need your transmission fluid replaced if you have not done so. If it is a Manual transaxle I would also replace the gear oil in the transaxle gear oil. Last, replace air filter. Most of these items that Emissionwiz and I suggests-you can do it your self and save money.

Good luck.

Check blower motor unit for ice build up. If all clear your blower motor needs replacing. I would recommend a service shop to do diagnoses.

I need a manual to help me rebuild the motor in my 1998 toyota corolla ve .. any information you can give me will be most helpful.. thanks, snellbelly37@yahoo.com

I can help you on the rebuild info. What is wrong with the engine? If it is real bad it would likely be cheaper to just replace the engine with a used engine from a salvage yard. Usually replacement engine parts for toyota aren't cheap. The used engine will be the cheaper option.

I have received a Toyota Corolla 2007 maintenance code P2716 and wonder what this means?

Hello; welcome to FixYa.

The P-2716 code you speak of is a problem in the logic (programming) in the car's Computer, or ECM.

Toyota is aware of this issue, and have issued a Technical Service Bulletin regarding that DTC Code; P-2716.

If your car is under 80,000 miles, Toyota will replace the ECM for you, for FREE. The ECM has an 8-year/80,000 mile warranty.

We here at FxYa hope this helps you out.
Thanks for choosing FixYa for advice!

Code# P2716 pressure control solenoid on Corolla 2006

I would recommend you do NOT attempt any repairs here. Your vehicle has 3 warranties, 3year/36,000 mile bumper to bumper, 5year/60,000 mile warranty and a 96 month/80,000 mile emission warranty.

This is a know issue with your car. THere is a service bulletin (TC015-07) that is to correct this condition and is a covered repair under the federal emission warranty. You need to bring your car to the Toyota Dealership to be repaired.

Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help.
