2006 Mercury Montego rear lights blink at ramdom

My wife had to get her rear brakes changed while she was in texas. Since, the brake lights have been blinking at random. Any Ideas what is causing that?

Thanks!

I would check the brake light switch adjustment at the brake pedal. Sounds like its misadjusted. Hope this helps

I can't seem to compress the rear brake calipers when trying to replace the brake pads on a 2006 Mercury Montego, what am I missing?

With a pair of needle nose pliers turn the pistons clockwise to set them back to base position. The V shape groves are not too deep on the pistons, so make sure you have gloves on, in case of the pliers slip out while turning it.

I'm replacing brake pads on 2005 mercury montego and the rear caliper doesn't seem to compress when i try to screw it in. Is there a trick? Seems to screw out just fine...

are you using the right tools? Id call you local auto parts store to make sure the set your using is correct, if it is the right set, id be asking how far out the piston is, on these newer vehicals, if you screw them out to far, almost to the point of being removed, they will not go back in or at least are very tricky to do

Rear brakes 05 merc montego

Try turning again clockwise with a little more pressure. If the brakes were worn badly the piston is just stuck from being adjusted out so far.
