Seeing as how its a dodge i would say the tranny went out. easist way to know for sure is to drop the tranny pan and look for metal shredds. before you do that though check the fluid lvl while its running make sure something is in there.

Reverse wont work on an incline and barely work on level ground?

Misty, if automatic check the transmission fluid level and top up if necessary. Take into a good shop for diagnoses(codes) and estimate on repair if needed. Could be transmission valve body or other internal problem causing pressure loss, maybe solenoid issue.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

2000 Ford ranger 3.0 L automatic granny will barley move in reverse but drives good in forward gears what would cause this?

My automatic granny doesn't move that fast either. It sounds as though your reverse gear is going out, the only thing I can suggest is taking it to a transmission repair shop... sorry =(

Will not move in reverse- automatic transmission

Does it actually go into reverse, but won't go? Or won't go into reverse at all? How long has it been since the filter was changed?

Transmission works fine in Drive, but reverse doesn,t work

The possiblities for your problem are: Worn out lo-reverse clutches, broken sunshell, fluid leak in the reverse apply circuit, or a worn boost valve. You are looking at having to replace or rebuild your transmission for this one.
