1999 plymouth grand voyager overheats when the ac is on

I own a 1999 plymouth grand voyager with only approximately 86000 miles on it, and the car overheats when the air conditioning is turned on. It only does it when the AC is turned on

The cooling fans run almost at all times, and at times when the a/c is on, the vehicle sort of jumps or seems like it misfires and it has a kick to it.

If this happens at lower speeds of in traffic the engine is not getting enough cooling. This could be due to a faulty thermostat that is not opening fully or slug in the radiator the will need cleaning or just low coolant level. Also check to see that the radiator is not clogged with bugs or leaves that will stop air from passing through. If this is the case use a hose and force water through from the engine side to push out the clogs. Good luck.

When the ac is on the computer is looking at pressure in the ac system to control the cooling fan operation if the pressure is increasing the cooling fan is commanded on now if the pressure switch is bad or if the ac system is low on refrigerant it is not building pressure and the cooling fans are not going to come on.

My 1997 Plymouth Voyager with 40,000 miles on started to overheat and air was not on. Coolant level was perfect. Car hasn't been driven in 6 months, maybe that is why.

Just bought 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager and it ran good for about 50 miles then it cut off and now won't start. it trys to start and battery seems good.

Have you checked the fuel filter? It may not be getting fuel. Had an experience with this - vehicle was fine but shut it off and it wouldn't start. No problems before but the fuel filter went fast.

open the bonnet and look down behind the headlamp, you should see some small type nuts, possibly about 6 that hold the unit in place, undo them, remove the multi wire plug from the unit and replace with the new headlamp assembly

1999 plynouth grand voyager was coding egr replace

just because the check engine light is back on, it doesn't necessarily mean it is for the same problem. it could be, but would need to pull codes again to find out what its for. literally hundreds of different codes could turn on check engine light. also, was original code for "insufficient egr flow" or "excessive egr flow"? it makes a difference.
