Question about 2003 BMW 325

I recently purchased a BMW 2003 325I. when I run the airconditioner I have a steady stream of hot air coming from the lower vent onto my feet. This is very uncomfortable especially when wearing sandels. Any thoughts on how to fix??

Replaced radiator in 2001 chevy venture now no heat?


the most commen problem with no heat is an air lock in the cooling system
when the vehicle is cold remove the rad cap
then there is a air bleed screw on the coolant pipe that goes across the front valve cover open the bleed screw about 3/4 to a full turn
use a funnel and over fill the rad into the funnel (this will make a mess)
make sure you have a steady streem of coolant coming out of the bleeder when you have a steady streem close the bleeder then there is a bleeder screw on the thermostat hosing open it and when you have a steady streem from it close that one then put the rad cap back on
and start the vehicle put your heat controls on VENT ,HOT AND HIGH BLOWER SPEED
run the vehicle and make sure you have HOT AIR COMMING OUT OF THE VENTS NOT WARM if its just warm then shut the engine off and open the bleeder on the pipe not the T-STAT HOUSING
keep repeating till you get HOT AIR COMMING FROM THE VENTS
top up the over flow bottle the rad will be fine

There's no heat coming out of the vent, just cold air. What is the possible solution to this problem


possible low anti freeze, air bound heater core, defective heat blend door control servo. Start with coolant level, if o.k. check hoses feeding heater core. If the lines are both hot suspect blend door servo/control unit. If only one hose hot suspect clogged/air bound core. Special bleed procedure for engine. With engine running, check for bleeder scews at upper hose mounting, open bleeder and watch for steady stream of coolant. Be careful as coolant is hot. If this does not help, disconnect hoses frm heater core when cool and blow out core with compressed air to unclog system. I hope this helps.

How to replace water pump on 1999 oldsmobile silouhette


drain the coolant
ok you will see a pulley with NO GROVES with FOUR 10mm bolts
that's the water pump losen the 4 bolts then remove the drive belt
remove the 4 bolts prev. loosed and remove that pulley
then there are FIVE 8mm bolts holding the water pump to front cover
remove the 5 water pump bolts
then use a screwdriver and hammer and tap the pump to seperate the pump from the cover
clean the old gasket off
install the new water pump and gasket
reassemble the vehicle
loosen the AIR BLEED SCREW ON THE BYPASS PIPE ABOVE THE WATER PUMP
refill the cooling system with coolant prev drained till a steady stream is coming out the AIR BLEED SCREW the close the bleed screw
if you need to add more coolant USE ONLY GM DEXCOL
then set your heater controls to VENT AND HOT
start the vehicle and let run till HOT AIR IS COMING OUT OF THE VENTS not WARM this will insure no air locks

run the engine when warm, open bleeder screw slightly. air should come out, wait for steady stream of coolant. Then lock down bleeder screw.

Changed the 2 cabin air filters but bad odor still comes out vent


If you run your Air cond on recirculate always try using an air sanitizer in your return vent. Or switch your A/C to outside air flow for for half an hour and raise the rear of your sunroof panel to vent the stale air do this till the smell dissipates and then close he sunroof and reset the A/C to recirculate if desired.

You also could have air in your coolant system. You can't just add coolant on these models after you drain the system or let it run low on coolant. The degas bottles on these models also have a flaw, where they crack along a seam. Sometimes coolant will leak, sometimes not, depending on how high the crack is on the bottle. But what it is guaranteed to do is allow air into your system, which can cause havoc with overheating (air surrounds the thermostat so it doesn't open) and keep coolant from flowing, particularly through the highest point in the system: the heater core. There is a heater core bleeder valve attached to a line near the top of the degas bottle (next to the expension line up top) with a plastic, flathead srewdriver face. Turn the heat on high and run the system at idle for 5 minutes. Then open the valve and keep it open until a steady stream of coolant comes out. (It's like bleeding your brakes.) That will clear any air from the system and at least give you peace of mind that this is not your problem. Then run the motor at 2000 rpms, with the heat still on high, for about 5 minutes or until hot air starts coming out. Release the bleeder valve again until a steady stream comes out. Then let the system cool and check your coolant level and fill as needed. I'd pull the degas bottle and inspect it...should have been a recall.

is the cabin filter new? id check that. might be restricting air. if not then control unit might be faulty. it could also be those cable that change where the air should be.
