Question about 1989 Audi 200
Speedo dont work
It is most likely a bad solder joint in the instrument cluster itself. I have the same car and mine quits occasionally. The proper fix is to remove the instrument cluster wrap the solder joints with a fine wire and re solder. I normally just give the top of my dash a good whack and it works fine again.

It's one of three things. The sensor in the transmission is bad. The wiring from the sensor to the speedometer is bad. Or the speedometer itself is bad.
