The module is located behind the dash just to the left of the radio. remove the two screws below the radio and the dash panel snaps out and you can access the module

Location of transfer case module on early 2002 Ford Explorer Limited

The electronic module (located behind the glove compartment) controls the operation of the transfer case in response to inputs from the electric shift motor, 4x4 mode switch, CPP switch, BPP switch, DTR sensor, throttle position output from the PCM, front and rear OSS sensors, and the VSS.

WHERE DO I FIND THE KEYPAD CODE FOR MY 1997 FORD EXPLORER

The factory code is also printed on a label which is installed on the Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) Module. This is the module that controls the keyless entry system. It is located in the left rear quarter behind the removable panel (see photo). You will need to turn the two thumb screws counter clockwise and take the plastic panel off to be able to see the unit. A flashlight may be helpful in seeing the code. You are looking for the module and the 5 digit code on it like the one shown below.

The last weekend I search my RAP, find label for read code and now is working.

2002 Ford explorer 4x4 no current

try disconnecting and reconnecting 4x4 module. open glove box, bend the door stops in to the glove box to open the door fully. the module is black and has two connectors. located all the way to the right of the glove box. sometimes this will fix 4x4 issues but these are known for having bad modules.
