Dead battery if not taken for a run every 5-6 days. Replaced battery. Didn't use car for 3 weeks and dead battery again

You have a battery drain that should be diagnosed by:

Have a parts store test your alternator diodes; if OK then
Put an amp meter between battery ground and battery neg cable to read draw with key off, then remove one fuse at a time to find which one makes draw go away. Once you know which circuit is faulty, check all items on that circuit.

Some of the usual culprits are glove box door not shutting properly and making light stay on. Light in trunk staying on. Brake lights staying on because switch is misadjusted.

How to fix the aerial on a 2002 Hyundai accent as the rubber has worn off around the aerial and just a hole now?

You'll have to purchase the part from the dealer and I believe it isn't that expensive. One word of warning though, make sure you paint the rubber with a good quality automotive touch-up paint or the sun will destroy the new part rather quickly, I learned the hard way! If I remember correctly, I believe I had to remove the trunk liner panel near the antenna and the boot comes off with 1 (?) screw. And while you are at the dealer, you might want to pick up the brake pedal stop switch urethane button, under $2, as these fail and when they do your brake lights will stay on causing a dead battery situation. The button is on the brake pedal arm just below it's pivot point and contacts the brake light switch. What usually happens is you find the urethane button laying on the drivers floor mat in pieces, then you discover the dead battery because the brake lights stay on several hours.

I have a 1988 Cadillac Brougham and i have replace the battery 3 times replaced the alternator and plugs wires and distributor cap and rotor but the battery goes dead in less than a couple hours what is...

Try this, take neg cable off and leave off after battery is fully charged, if battery does not go dead (and it should not) then you probaly have either a trunk light or something else staying on and draining battery.
This is where it gets fun and can take some time and luck, if the battery did not go dead with cable off then you will eihter have to start pulling fuses one at a time and then put a meter accross the terminals to see if you read voltage( if you read voltage something is trying to use battery) or pull 1 fuse at a time and see if battery goes dead, if does then put fuse back and try next. Quickest way is with the meter.
Hope this helps

Battery goes flat from time to time. battery ok charging rate ok.after going flat trickle charge for less than half an hour and it will start.m/b dealer thought it was tailgate lock 200 pounds later it was...

this is a hard one, the battery goes dead from time to time, youll have to keep an out for lights staying on, a brake switch that stick sometimes, could be a radio shoting or a cd player drawing volts with key off, best way is to hook battery to a draw tester ,see if it drawing then start removing fuses one at a time to try and pinpoint the system thats drawing. if battery is charged and removed from car for a week will it go dead? ive had cars with bad batteries that had the same symptons.

Battery goes dead after several days, have tried

Connect the meter, then pull fuses one at a time until the current draw goes away.

You have now isolated the circuit that is the culprit. Troubleshoot that circuit and you'll find what is causing the problem. I would suspect there is a light staying on somewhere (engine light) or possibly ABS pump (if truck has ABS brakes). Maybe dash lights are on all the time.

Let me know what you find, or if you need more help.

Dashlight Stays on and Battery Runs Down Completely After Shutoff

You have a slow short somewhere in the vehicle. Have you had the alternator checked. While the alternator may work fine while running, it is possible that the alternator has "sticking diodes" which will cause the alternator to "stay on" and drain the battery.

91 Buick Century 2.5 L brake light on & battery light on

For the Brake light to stay on and the fluid is up...sounds like your sensor is playing dead......

For the battery to die after only (4) have a very big drain on the battery itself.....without the vehicle right here to look at would be very hard to even guess...electrical problems are a hands on chore...

I'd take it to your garage/mechainc
