Most likely a bad DSC control unit. Natorius to fail internally on this vehicle.

Take it to the dealer to get programmed correctly after replacement.

I have 2001 bmw 325i and I replays the battery after tha my speromeeter stop working is sum electric or cable how ken I fix my self

Could be your rear wheel speed sensor(s) not super pricey but it is a BMW. I would replace those as your speedometer is electric not cable.
Average price is $270.00 USD I do believe. If that dosnt fix your problem you may need to replace the wiring as it may have been snagged and broken.

I have a 1984 BMW 528e and the radio, brake lights, power windows and speedometer stopped working

Check all your fuses, they come loose and get corroded on these cars often. Give them all a good wiggle to get rid of any oxidation and be sure they aren't blown. If it's not that, check your wiring harnesses.

Bmw speedometer

Sounds like a bad or lose fuse. Take a look in the fuse panel and look for a loose fuse or blown fuse.

If they disconnect the battery on a 2001 bmw x5 does that interfere with the speedometer

All is controlled by the computer. When you disconnect the battery for a period of time, after reconnect the computer will reset. Nothing works without the computer telling it to.

1988 BMW 325SI SPEEDOMETER ISNT WORKING OR CALCULATING MILEAGE WHATS AN EASY WAY TO SEE WHATS WRONG ITS NOT A FUSE. COULD IT BE THE SENDING UNIT?

There is a sending unit located in the differential. Sometimes the wires break. You'll need to get under the car, find the sensor and make sure the cables are attached and sound. If they are, then it's probably a faulty sensor.

Speedometer stopped working

it has no cable, it is an electronic speedo, you will need to pull the speedo out and send it out for repair, here is a place that can do the work much cheaper than the dealer. call them.1-888-495-2777

Speedometer, RPM, ABS, and Brake light

It's not the fuse. You need to jump start the diagnostic cable. First you need a battery of 9v and short the + and - terminal to the diagnostic cable. Then you will see smoke. After that it should work fine.

Speedometer Stops

Most cars Speedometer cable connect to one of the front wheels, but you said your speedometer sometimes stop then your steering wheel will go stiff, I think you should fix or change your speedometer cable, maybe the cable broken inside. Fix it as soon as possible for your safety.

Speedometer cable has two parts, one is outside cable, mounted and connect to both speedometer and wheel.

The other one is an inside steel cable, outside cable protects the inside cable, because the inside cable turns as soon as you move the car. It is directly connect to the wheel gears and the speedometer inside.

If your car has speedometer cable, I think you need check it right away.

Your steering wheel sometimes stiff, you also need to check your power steering fluid level, sometimes cause this kind problem.

Hope this can help you and if you have more questions, please use whatever the Fixya allowed, contact me to discuss this matter and others. Thank you.
