Could be upper strut mounts, or bearing plates on front suspension, after all water is a mild lubricant

While driving my 2011 lancer the steering wheel and brakes locked

Was the steering wheel locked, or just stiff to turn?
I imagine what may have happened is that the engine stalled while on the move. This would effectively kill vacuum brake assistance, and stop the power steering pump at the same time, causing very heavy steering.
You will need to check the condition of your engine components if this was the case. You can start by checking the condition of the following:

1) Spark plugs, leads and coil(s)
2) Air filter
3) Fuel filter
4) Idle control valve

What are the signs of a failing rear end in 2000 xj8 vdp. i had a sqeak coming from rear so i sprayed some white lithium grease which quited the problem temporarily, but now sqeak is louder and i hear...

First check the diff fluid level. If its right up, then check the drive line. No probs, then check do the brake check, paying attention to the dust covers as well.

I had my brake pads replaced at a shop with the rotors and drums machined. they sqeak whenever I brake. they also squeak when I drive. Can this be from them not having the rotors not being machined...

Give the disc pads a chance to break in. The maching would have no brg on it. Try wetting them and see if it returns. Depending on the grade of lining they installed they sometimes will ssqueek for a bit. Most shops won't put cheap (won't) put cheap lining on because of liability. The downside is, the more expensive lining is harder and work better under heavy use or hard application. Softer ling is quieter and not as agressive but they don't last very long and fade sooner in heavy braking. Fade< meaning loose the friction properties as they heat up. ne thing you can do is go back and ask if they forgot the anti chatter silicone that is normally applied to the back of the pads to dampen any high frequency chattering. And what is a squeek, but a high frequency cchatter? So, bring it to their attention. I think they will just tell you to let the pads seat/wear in. Good LKuck, Ned

My 2001 Audi TT's steering is it because it's a 4 wheel drive? I've had it for 4 years and haven't checked the steering wheel fluid...

The all wheel drive will not effect the steering. I'd start with the steering fluid as it may be low or beginning to break down. I assume this issue is new and has not always feelt heavy; if so this might be the pump failing or the steering rack which the pump delivers fluid too.

I hope this may help,

I hear a sound like the fan belt sqeaking, I know there is only one belt and that belt is still on . first it made a sound like a tire was leaking air then i heard the sqeaking under the hood

belts can still sqeak even though they are still on, check the condition of the belt, is it craked?, glazed? spray some silicon spray on it while its running and see if it goes away. the belt driven accesories can also make noise, alternator, steering pump, water pump, idler, tensioner, a/c compressor. use a long screwdriver like a stethescope and see if one belt driven acessory makes more noise than the others, just be careful of moving parts.
