Question about 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee
I have a 2004 Jeep GC limited with inline 6 it has 90,000. It just started to stall when its shifted into reverse, get NO check engine light and NO code. Runs fine other than when shifted in reverse. Any ideas.
You have to be careful that it is not the safety neutral switch.since stall means different things to different people,it is hard to tell exactly what is the issue.if the safety neutral switch, which is wired to the start and ignition circuits is bad,it could kill the engine.
jack up the vehicle and look for bad or shorted wires or connectors before doing anything else.
the other thing is how it behaves with no load on it. put a floor jack under the rear differential and raise it just enough for the wheels to be off the ground a couple inches.put it into reverse with no load and see if the wheels turn in 2wd mode.
