It should be located in the Transmission. On the top i cant remember if its on the left or right. It sounds like you need to tighten it down more or needs to be replaced. But yeah it should be located on the trans or some where near it on the motor but most of the cables go into the transmission.

the sound is from loose belts ( poor condition belts) that slip from the acceleration. Check power steering belt, ac belt and generator drive belts of if one belt check condition and tension.

Hi, On my 2001 X-Type, I hear a squealing commin

You have a bad rear hub bearing.It at times starts as a low humming sound,then will increase to a screeching sound..you can jack the car up and have both rear wheels off the ground palce your hands at 12 and 6 pm and try to check for loseness.also if you have a creeper,just to eliminate a bad carrier bearing you can check the axle near the differential by checking it for play also.But I am leaning very much towrds the hub bearing.I have changed several of these...

Stuck in first gear.

Sounds like transmission may be in "Limp Mode" which occurs when problem detected in transmission, to allow you to get to repair shop and save transmission at same time. Have it diagnosed at dealer or transmission shop & don't drive it any more than needed until then. Transmission replacement gets very expensive so get it in to shop a.s.a.p. so it doesn't get to that extent, and it may turn out to be a faulty sensor or something minor.

Clutch makes a squealing noise

Hello;
The throw out bearing is going oout. The reason you hear the squeal when you push in the clutch is that is when the throw out bearing spins up. Rest of the time it does not spin.It is irratating, You should replace the entire clutch assembly when you replace the throw out bearing. Hope this helps, rate me high.
Thanks;

Hi there, I have a 1990 Volkswagen Jetta Flair 2. I've had the car for about a year now and overall it's been an excellent car for it's age. However, there's always something that needs to be fixed and lately I've had throttle response problems. I do not have any mechanical backround, so I will describe it as best as I can. For one, it seems apparent this is an issue when the engine is cold (or not sitting in the sun all day). I will put the foot down, and it won't respond until it gets to about 3000rpm (right around when I'm thinking about changing gears), and then it rocket ships forward. Before it finally responds, there's a lot of shaking going on in the engine bay. It doesn't sound pleasant either. I took it in for an oil change, and they put fuel injector in it and it seemed to be a temporary solution. Whatever the case, there's a poor connection between me putting the throttle down and the car responding to the action. I do rev it up before I get going, but it's kind of futile. So as a result, I have a tendency to stall in first gear at low speeds as the gas doesn't react when I want it to, and the clutch is usually released by that point. After about 5-10 minutes of constant driving, it will accelerate smoothly. If you can point me in the right direction, whether it's "fuel" related, or it's some sort of heat sensor (I have no idea what I'm talking about), let me know if you've had similar experiences. All my repairs have cost me less than a 100 each time, I want to keep it that way.
