Question about 1997 Saturn SL

1 Answer

I just tried driving my car, and something went wrong with the transmission or clutch. My car is now stuck in reverse, and I am unable to shift it into any other gear. I feel like it must be something wrong with the linkage, because the shifter can freely rotate around the gear box. I'm not sure what the hell could possibly be wrong. Any advice?

Yes most likely your shifter cable end broke out under your console. You will have to get a cable repair end of E-Bay for about $18.00 The Sellers handle is (saturnbushinghennie) I have bought preanty of those cable repair ends from him.Saturn Doesn't sell just the end piece!!

Transmission Issues? Feels like I'm dumping the clutch when I ease into gear. Please help!

Sounds like something broke in the clutch area. The clutch has springs in it. In there for harsh shifts And dumping the clutch. But the pressure plate could possibly do this as it is also spring loaded. Changing the fluid would do this. The fluid only lubricates the internal parts. IE.. gears, bearings, ad synchronizers. being low isn't good, but still wouldn't cause this problem.

94 ford ranger manual transmission goes into first gear and reverse just fine let off the clutch and the truck wont move.

part of a clutch job is removing the gearlever make sure the lever is secured properly and selects the gear correctly.
Orherwise your symptoms sound like a collapsed pressure plate or broken release bearing either defective part or something done wrong during installation of clutch

2007 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.2 Diesel, transmission went into neutral while driving.

Check transmission fluid level if low on fluid it will suck air and transmission forward clutch can not apply. If fluid is full and clean looking RED in color shift control solenoids are the problem and internal. BROWN and BLACK fluid indicates the forward clutch was slipping and now has no holding power for movement. this case the transmission needs reconditioning.

Automatic gearshift stuck in drive in kia 2007 rondo

Kia transmissions have become more complicated and parts such as the clutch, flywheel and torque converter can fail regardless of your driving habits. If your vehicle is beyond the warranty period I would still recommend your local Kia Dealer for repairs on this problem. A transmission problem is far to difficult to tackle for all but the most experienced mechanic.

No reverse and no up shift

Is this a manual? if it is, your clutch pilot bearing probraly bad, if it's automatic then it's your transmission. Is your car able to drive at all, but unable to shift to a higher gear???? If so, it's your transmission 100%.

Check the linkage first. I have had the linkage come loose before. If it isn't the linkage you need a good transmisson man.

Reverse just quit on '95 Pathfinder

If it is an automatic transmission it probably needs transmission fluid. If a standard shift check and adjust shift linkage.
