Overheating and fan doesn't turn on

I am trying to find out where the Heat Sensor is located in my Ford Tauros 2000. I have changed the Thermostat already and it still continues to overheat. Thanks.

The thermostat only controls water flow and the switch that should turn the fan on is normally located on the bottom tank of the radiator. It will have one or two leads running to it.
Using a meter to check its operation would be best but you could just buy a new one and install it. Be careful not to allow coolant to run onto the ground since animals like to drink the stuff and it is toxic.

Check to ensure fans are getting enough amperage to run at proper speed. turning your heat on removes heat form the engine and puts it into the passenger compartment. It could be possible that a sensor on the fan is not allowing the fans to spin fast enough or the fans may have a sensor which controls the speed of the fan to coincide with the heat that needs to be removed. Generally, your thermostat needle should sit just slightly below half. Do not run engine anywhere near the red zone as damage can result

two probably thing , you have a pluged radiator or the fan clush is not good, if when you are cruising it doesn' t overheating , but when you stop for 2-5 minuts it does, then is the fan clush, if when cruising it overheating then is the radiator . all this thinking that you checked the cooland level and changed the termostat with the correct oness

Overheating engine in 24 valve 96 ford taurus 6 cyl

the thermostat can be easily changed from up top, the T-stat is located at the engine end of the upper radiator hose under the flange the hose connects to. Make sure u follow manufacturer's cooling system bleeding procedures when you refill after the T-stat is changed out.

Replaced cracked radiator in 2000 Chrysler LHS but car still overheating. What could be the problem?

fix the radiator first.because coolant temperature sensor need to be in antifreeze.when antifreeze get up to 190 degrees. the coolant sensor act as a thermostat.it resistance decrease then the pcm will command cooling fans to run.if antifreeze low the coolant temperature sensor not going to work. engine is going to over heat.
