For the best rate go to www.craigslist.com and select your city, go to automotive services and look for auto mechanics there, they usually charge like $24-$35 per hour for jobs compared to $75-$100 per hour for garage prices.

How to tell if your 2000 Jetta gls vr6 need struts? My car squeeks when I driving and If I push down on the hood.

After ten years your are sure to need a new suspension. The way you cantell the shocks are gone is you'll see signs of fluid leaking from the inside of the top onto the outsides of the inner bottom. A couple of jacks and the right wrenches will be pretty easy for even a novice mechanic. Two to four hours your done, it will also increarse the cars hoursepower and preformance.

Speedometer quit working

There is no Speedometer cable on a 2002 Jetta. You have a VSS (vehicle speed sensor) I would have someone check the codes on it and see if the VSS is the problem.
